How to use
The flowStick is used on the instrument instead of the mouthpiece. It is placed a little between the lips so that the air only flows into the instrument. Imagine the melody and play it under constant airflow. The air noise of the flowStick gives feedback about the air intensity.
Enjoy using your flowStick!
The air resistance or air consumption can be adjusted by turning the screw.
Maximum air consumption is achieved by removing the screw.
It is recommended to alternate between normal playing and flowStick constantly.
Replacing the flowTube
Insert the tube so that the cut side of the tube points in the same direction as the screw.
Press into the front opening of the flowStick until a slight resistance (at 0.7mm) is noticed.
Note: this info concerns only the flowStick model TUTO for trumpet.
It is recommended to clean the tube regularly with water.
To do this, first pull the tube out of the flowStick, then clean it with water and then push it back into the front opening of the flowStick as described.
Spare parts
A replacement tube is included with the flowStick in the packaging.
Additional tubing can be purchased in the flowStick Shop:
Cleaning the flowStick
Similar to the mouthpiece, frequent use of the flowStick can cause deposits (food residues etc.) to collect in its cavity.
It is recommended to clean the flow stick at regular intervals with a mouthpiece brush, cleaning tablet and warm water.
Cleaning Instructions
1. Remove the silicone tube (if present) with your fingers.
2. Clean the inside of the flowStick under running water with a mouthpiece brush. Because of blowing edges inside, only clean the front and back part of the flowStick with the mouthpiece brush.
3. Place a cleansing tablet with the flowStick (and the tube) in a glass of warm water.
4. Leave the flowStick (and the tube) in the cleaning solution for at least 5 minutes.
5. Rinse the flowStick (and tube) under running water and dry well.
Further notes
Turn the mouthpiece brush carefully and at both openings only up to max. the blowing edge (depending on the model) inside the flowStick.
Be sure to carefully screw the screw back into the thread. If the screw gets jammed, e.g. by screwing it in at an angle, the thread can be damaged.
information about water temperature: the material of the flow stick is heat resistant up to max.100°C.
Model TUTO (trumpet):
The diagonally cut side of the tube should point in the same direction as the screw. Push the tube into the front opening of the flowStick until a slight resistance (at 0.7 mm) can be felt.
ROTO and Tuba model:
It is easier to push the silicone tube back onto the front section using slight twisting movements.
